Uitzicht op een inham van de Atlatische Oceaan vanaf het hotel. Aan de overkant tekent zich de heilige berg van Ierland af de Croagh Patrick, ook wel ’the Reek’ genoemd. De ongenaakbare berg maakt regelmatig slachtoffers, maar wordt jaarlijks op de laatste zondag in juli door duizenden pelgrims beklommen, weer of geen weer. In de voetheuvels liggen prehistorische sites evenals op de top zelf. Op het eind van de vierde eeuw werd ze bedwongen en gekerstend door de beschermheilige van het land, St. Patrick die door een verblijf op de top de oude geesten naar verluidt, verdreef.
